The Houston Texans allowed fans into NRG Stadium on Sunday for the team’s 31-23 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. You see my choice of picture was fans who wanted head coach and general manager Bill O’Brien fired, no doubt spurred on by the historic blowout loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the playoffs and then the subsequent DeAndre Hopkins trade.
Well to those fans in the photo, you got your wish! O’Brien is the first NFL coach to be canned in 2020.
Owner Cal McNair said the only current change is Romeo Crennel is the interim coach.

The Texans are 0-4 and dead last in the AFC South, a division they’ve won four out of the last five years under O’Brien. Usually that’s accompanied with playing the Saturday, 1:30 PM PT wild card timeslot and either losing at home that weekend or winning that weekend and losing the following week.
Houston did have a brutal start to the season by taking on the Kansas City Chiefs, Baltimore Ravens, and Pittsburgh Steelers. They predictably lost all three but dropping one to the previously winless Vikings was the final start.
Not only are the Texans basically out of the playoff picture already, but the Dolphins own their 2021 first and second-round picks thanks to the Laremy Tunsil trade, so Miami may have lost to the Seattle Seahawks yesterday, but they really won.
