Liverpool secured an impressive result and performance in the Premier League on Monday evening, with the Reds beating Arsenal 3-1 at Anfield.
Mikel Arteta’s side had prevailed over Liverpool in their last two meetings in all competitions, but that record came to an end on Monday as goals from Sadio Mane, Andy Robertson and new signing Diogo Jota secured the three points for Jurgen Klopp’s side, despite Alexandre Lacazette opening the scoring.
It was an impressive performance by the home side at Anfield, with Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mane, Robertson and others all looking on top form against the Gunners, who are much-improved under Arteta this season.
But there was a fair bit of reaction from Fantasy Football fans about the Liverpool vs Arsenal game on Monday night.
And it was all started by the Fantasy Premier League revealing the bonus points awarded to certain players for their performances at Anfield.
In a tweet on the Official Fantasy Premier League Twitter account, the bonus points for the game were first announced, with these bonus points confirmed a short time later.
Here are the FPL bonus points given out for the game between Liverpool and Arsenal:
Reds full-back Alexander-Arnold won the maximum three bonus points, with Robertson earning two, followed by Mane, Lacazette and Bernd Leno all securing one bonus point.
Fantasy Football fans were frustrated that Mohamed Salah wasn’t given a bonus point, despite registering an assist according to FPL rules, whilst Bernd Leno was given one.
There were also questions around Mane only being awarded one bonus point, despite putting in a fantastic display and scoring in the game.
Here are some of the reactions on social media from Fantasy Football fans regarding the FPL’s bonus points decision on Monday evening.
You can see that there is an awful lot of reaction to the FPL’s bonus points decision on social media, particularly regarding Salah and Mane.
It’s easy to see how Lacazette was given a bonus point, as he scored the opening goal, but it does seem strange that Leno was given a bonus point despite conceding three goals, and that Salah wasn’t given any.
*What do you make of the Fantasy Premier League’s decision to give only one bonus point to Mane, and none to Salah?
